I slowly realize I am awake. The room is thick with darkness, and I am too heavy to move. Across the bed, the cat starts purring. Nothing has happened , but already she is happy.

Cats are amazing. I imagine something about my breathing or heart rate changes as I wake up. Good thing I’m not a mouse! thanks for the words of encouragement. A month of daily posts seems daunting, so I am just thinking of them one day at a time.
